Tajani è stato nominato alla guida della commissione Affari costituzionali e Gualtieri alla Commissione Problemi economici e monetari. Italiani anche i vicepresidenti di altre 5 commissioni: Bartolo a Libertà civili, giustizia e affari interni, Chinnici a Controllo dei bilanci, Ferrandino a Pesca, Toia a Industria, ricerca ed energia e Stancanelli alla Giuridica.
Le 20 commissioni del Parlamento europeo hanno eletto oggi le loro cariche interne per i prossimi due anni e mezzo. Tra i prescelti per la presidenza e le vicepresidenze 7 eurodeputati italiani.
“Sarà per me un onore guidare i lavori della commissione Affari Costituzionali del Parlamento europeo”, ha affermato oggi Antonio Tajani, PPE-Forza Italia, “lavorerò subito sulla Brexit e su un grande progetto di riforma dell’Europa. In questo proseguirò lo sforzo profuso da Presidente del Parlamento europeo per rendere le istituzioni sempre più vicine ai cittadini europei e continuerò il mio lavoro per dare finalmente al Parlamento europeo il potere di iniziativa legislativa”.

Continuerò a battermi per un’Europa della crescita, del lavoro, dell’equità e della coesione. Servono più investimenti per l’innovazione e la sostenibilità ambientale e sociale, occorre riformare e completare l’Unione economica e monetaria, contrastare il dumping fiscale e attuare il pilastro sociale. Sono obiettivi ambiziosi, ma ce la metteremo tutta”.

All’Italia sono andate anche 5 vicepresidenze di commissioni parlamentari: Pietro Bartolo, Caterina Chinnici, Giuseppe Ferrandino e Patrizia Toia, S&D-PD, sono infatti da oggi, rispettivamente, vicepresidente della commissione Libertà civile, giustizia e affari interni, della commissione Controllo dei bilanci, della commissione Pesca e di quella Industria, ricerca ed energia. Raffaele Stancanelli, ECR-Fratelli d’Italia, è stato eletto alla vicepresidenza della commissione Giuridica.
